Frequently Asked Questions

Where does CNAM data come from?

CNAM data is supplied by the telephone carrier who owns the telephone number and is populated in the authoritative repository that the carrier selects to store its CNAM values. Each carrier has different policies regarding CNAM. Some carriers automatically opt-in their subscribers, and some carriers require their subscribers to opt-in. Therefore, name data may often be published or not published without the subscriber's knowledge.
There are some telephone carriers and telephone service providers that do not participate in the CNAM network. If you do not know the status of your CNAM data, please contact your telephone carrier and ask for more information.
